Fortele Aeriene Ruse au mai comandat inca sase aparate de transport cu doua motoare Antonov-140-100. Acest model de Antonov este proiectat in Ucraina, dar construit in Rusia. Pentru cine nu stie facem precizarea ca Antonov este detinuta in acest moment de companii rusesti.
Flosit in general pentru trafic civil, poate transporta pana la 52 de pasageri, insa Russia a preferat varianta militarizata, de transport, pentru inlocuirea aparatelor Antonov 24/26.
An-140 este un aparat de transport mediu curier de 19 tone, cu o raza de 1300 km si un cost per bucata de 12 milioane de dolari, varianta militarizata. Tot in varianta militarizata, avionul poate transporta o masa de aproximativ 5 tone, cu o viteza de croaziera de 460km/h.

Per ansamblu as zice ca am iesit bine :). Inlocuitorul lui AN 24/26 este mai slab decat ceea ce au ales ai nostri in conditiile in care inlocuitorul este mai vechi ca si conceptie decat urmasul An.
La dimensiuni aproape similare C27J cara de peste 2 ori mai mult pe o distanta cu 30% mai mare si cu o viteza cu 21% mai mare.
C27J miroase de la o posta a transport echipamente fata de AN care este mai mult pentru trupe.
